Background
St. Paul’s Hospital-kasese was founded by the Anglican Church of Uganda, South Rwenzori Diocese in 1989 under Norwegian Integrated Rural Development Program (IRDP). The facility is owned by the Diocese. The facility exists to improve the health status of the communities in Kasese Municipality and Kasese district at large by providing affordable, accessible, quality and equitable health services.
St. Paul’s hospital-kasese is located in Kamaiba upper cell, Kamaiba ward, Central division, Kasese municipality in Kasese District in the western part of Uganda. It is located below the St Paul’s cathedral of South Rwenzori Diocese.

Human Resource
The facility has 2 full-time medical Officers and one Medical officer doing Maters in Obstetrics and Gynecology and 4 clinical officers among others. Detailed staffing is shown here below. It is this workforce based on teamwork that builds St Paul’s Health Centre. 13 percent of the staff are seconded by the government while the 87% are recruited and paid by St Paul’s Hospital kasese.
We have 22 Voluntary Health Team members (VHTs) who play a big role in community health and mobilization. Below is their numbers according to areas served.
